The Use of Trending Stories

These days the Internet is a competitive field. It’s not just about finding information or doing a little online shopping or online classes ; these days the Internet has dollar signs written all over the websites that inhabit it. The only issue that lies ahead is getting people to that website.

For the owners of websites, large or small, getting traffic is much easier said than done. While there are those that believe a simple advertisement will give a website a much needed boost, the truth is that it takes a lot more than a banner to get a website to bring in serious dough. To that end, the monitoring and the manipulating of search engines such as Yahoo! and Google are paramount in getting traffic to the site. There are very few websites that don’t take advantage of the amazing amount of traffic that can be generated by using a search engine effectively.

This isn’t to say that it’s easy to use a search engine, but rather that it’s possible. To this end people are starting to follow trending stories. Places like Google and Yahoo! are keeping fans up to date on what the big stories are in the world and it’s up to many of these companies to provide the content necessary to bring traffic to their sites.

These two ideas marry when sites begin to blog about the stories that are trending. The idea is to have some content on the subject that is being trending such as Microsoft, and then using that in hopes that it will pop up in search engines. This means that the search engines will be scanning to see that a site has information about a hot story. The more hits that site gets, the more hits the article or the video content will come up in search engines. The higher it goes, the more people that will see it and the more traffic that will be driven to the site.
