Traffic Tips: Increasing Numbers

It seemed like such a perfect notion – a site was to be created; visitors were to be sought; and a service was to be provided (all from the comforts of home). An independent business was meant to offer relief.

That relief hasn’t come, however.

Your pages sit idle, unread and unwelcome. A counter reveals no traffic, no interest. All posts have become lost among the endless offerings of the Internet and cannot be found. There are no guests. There are no sales.  You have … failed.

You don’t have to.

There are ways to increase traffic and promote your business. You merely need to understand what visitors expect and what you must do to accomplish this.  Then once you have succeeded, you can use a program like Tight VNC and enjoy the benefits of relaxing by the pool with your laptop running the business on your office computer.

Consider:

One: Quality. No site can survive that’s defined by weak words and dull content. Guests demand perfection, wanting to gain the necessary knowledge. Their searches therefore must be met with information that both informs and entertains. Refrain from spilling out useless trivia. Choose facts carefully instead, ensuring that they’ll answer all questions. If you need help coming up with content like this, you could use a mind-mapping application like Freemind to help. Traffic will increase as the quality does.

Two: Affiliation. The Internet is a vast thing. It’s difficult then for individuals to always discover what they need. Choosing to affiliate yourself with already established sites is therefore essential. Generate high numbers by linking to popular pages. Be certain these pages are relevant to you, however. No guests will come if the information isn’t wanted.

Three: SEO. The typical user is shaped by impatience. He has no desire to trawl through endless pages, seeking out the many sites. He instead relies on an engine to offer the best choices and rarely looks beyond the first 10 options that are offered. Search engine optimization techniques are therefore required. Keyword placement, meta tags, backlinks and more are needed to boost your page and expose yourself to guests.
